Darren Rowse of ProBlogger recently ran a group writing competition with a “Top 5″ theme. I’ve picked out below the blog entries that are related to business:
-
Your Small Business is Worth More than a Free Email Address <- I could not agree more it’s a pet hate of mine!
-
Top Five Reasons To Work At Home <- she forgot to mention that it’s a good way of bootstrapping your business.
-
Top 5 Young Entrepreneur Projects <- also relevant to the teen business ideas week.
There may have been more (and if you wrote one please let me know and I’ll add it to the list) but I’ve just skim read the full list of entries.
I also think that 5 Ways Criminal Thinking Can Make You Happier deserves an honorary mention as it relates to white collar criminals and has some good points for those starting or running a business to consider.

This blog is about business opportunities and ideas that I spot, think of or hear about and think are useful and interesting. It is intended to provide ideas and inspriation for you to help you find the right business idea for you to then grow it into a successful business.

Wow. Thanks for including me in your list! I hope your readers get some benefit from it
Maile,
No problem, I really enjoyed your post and believe it’s useful to my readers.
Thanks for including my post – Top 5 Free Ways to Promote Your Writing Business.
This list is a good idea. 890 plus posts has a wealth of wonderful info, but this themed list is a more manageable focused selection. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Thanks for the link and including me with these other great business posts.
John, thanks for including me too! I almost missed the trackback until I spotted you in Technorati.
You’ve got a great idea here… collecting the collection of posts into sub-categories! Gives me ideas to do them all, but it’s almost over whelming! Perhaps a good idea to propose to Darren for the next time around… letting people categorize their post, and then it would be easy to generate subsets so it would be much easier to browse. Then we could do… Top 5 for each category!
Thanks for the collection… I’m off to subscribe now!
[...] John Crickett’s Top 5’s – Blog Posts About Business, where he categorizes all the business related selections. John also gave me a great idea which I’ve passed on to Darren Rowse… include a category field in the submission form next time he does a group writing project. [...]
Dan, Thanks for the compliment, lets hope Darren takes up the idea.
I look forward to reading your blog.
I got a reply from him last night. He said they were thinking about it…
