Anyone Can Do It tells the story of the high street coffee chain Coffee Republic. The book is written jointly, by the brother and sister team Sahar and Bobby Hashemi, and describes the journey of turning Coffee Republic from an idea into a high street brand. The book is aimed at budding entrepreneurs and those starting up in business.
Anyone Can Do It is very easy to read. The book is well laid out in logical chapters and steps and the copy is down to earth. Business related jargon is clearly explained, making it a suitable read for those with little or no business experience. The text is broken up by interesting diagrams here and there, and generic business points are helpfully marked up with what the book names ‘laws of entrepreneurship’. Although the book is primarily related to the coffee shop industry, many of the points raised are universal and can be applied to a variety of businesses.
Throughout the book the authors explain their experiences, successes and mistakes they made along the way, from choosing a brand name, writing a business plan, raising finance, and finding premises, to winning customers and the ups and downs faced by start ups. The book devotes a whole chapter to writing a business plan, and includes a useful draft version of one of theirs.
The book is full of business tips and hints and is inspirational as it tracks the lives of these two ordinary people on their road to being successful entrepreneurs, showing that Anyone Can Do It.
