iLetYou.com is a new Internet business that much like Amazon or Netflixs allows you to rent DVD’s and Games but there are a couple of twists. The first twist is that as a consumer, once you’ve picked your film you can then select which of a range of rental stores you wish to rent it from each offering a different deal. The second twist is that they provide a platform that allows anyone to open up their own rental store, renting out their DVD’s and Games. You could say they’re positioned to become the Ebay of rentals.

They already have a good selection of recent films despite only launching their public beta on the 24th April:

Much like Ebay they allow the community to rate each transaction and provide a feedback rating for each store:

iLetYou has plans to expand the platform to accommodate additional verticals and countries in the future. Great news, I’d love to see them over in the UK and as I’ve mentioned before I think there’s scope in this market for Computer Book Rental .

I think that they have a great business idea in iLetYou and it is a classic example of what a good business idea should be in that it’s easily understood, has mass appeal and a proven market (video/game rentals) to which it brings a new, but equally proven way of doing business (providing a venue for peer to peer transactions – Ebay) and in addition it’s highly scalable.

If they have the funding behind them to market it I can see this turning into a multimillion dollar opportunity for them.
