‘Secrets of the Millionaire Mind – Think Rich to Get Rich’, by T. Harv Eker

on June 8th, 2007

smm‘Secrets of the Millionaire Mind’ tells us how rich people think and act differently to poor and middle class people and how, by changing some of your views and actions towards money, you too can become wealthy.

The book is in two main parts.

Part one, ‘Your Money Blueprint’, deals with financial attitudes. Eker believes every one of us has our own money blueprint, which has come about by what we have learned and been taught during our up bringing. He says we become programmed to think about and deal with money in a certain way, depending on influence from parents, siblings, friends, authority figures, the media, culture and so on.

This part of the book contains ‘wealth principles’, which are short statements or sayings that sum up attitudes to. Some of them are useful and thought provoking.

Part Two, ‘The Wealth Files’, gives seventeen ways in which rich people think and act differently to poor and middle class people.

Each section in this part starts with a summary, which the author than goes on to explain in detail. The section ends with ‘declarations’, which are statements Eker encourages you to say to yourself (with your hand on your heart), in order to change your attitude to money. This is very American in style and I have to admit being cynical about how saying them aloud would help me become rich! The declarations are followed by what Eker calls ‘Millionaire Mind Actions’, things for you to do to start to become wealthy. Some are useful pointers, but again they are a bit Americanised.

The whole book is a bit of an advert for the author’s seminars, which he runs in the USA, and testimonials from past delegates are included throughout the book. The book is very American in places. It is, however, easy to read and is an interesting insight into the ways that poor and rich people differ.

You can buy it from Amazon UK or Amazon USA.
