The BBC are currently showing “Dragon’s Den Where Are They Now” and as I’ve just read a list of 10 Signs that you’re and Entrepreneur and it occurred to me that it was time we had some humour on the blog, so here’s my top 5 signs you’re an Entrepreneur (and should be on Dragon’s Den).
5. You are anti-authoritarian. You’re going to be the boss and you don’t like people telling you you’re wrong.
4. You cannot wait to give up a secure, safe and steady (if dull) income for a roller coaster ride as a startup.
3. You don’t see lack of money, lack of knowledge, lack of experience and no market for your product as barriers to entry. If there is a market you are not deterred by the existence of formidable competition.
2. You would happily remortgage your home and put the equity and your life savings (and your families life savings) into your start-up.
And the number one sign you’re an entrepreneur:
1. When you project future earnings, your spread sheet shows that by Year 3, you can buy a small country as a weekend retreat, by year 5 you’ll own a continent or two.

This blog is about business opportunities and ideas that I spot, think of or hear about and think are useful and interesting. It is intended to provide ideas and inspriation for you to help you find the right business idea for you to then grow it into a successful business.

Bit of Advice, if you don’t understand don’t make a comment.
Yeah their is a huge percentage of businesses that fail in their first two years (I think it’s around 80%), many I am afraid to say is probably to do with similar reasons to what you have stated above. However about 20% don’t fail, because they knew what they were doing. Remember how many businesses do you rely on every day that came from an Entrepreneurs vision???
Also why doesn’t a Uni student take their exams in the first week of Uni? Why do they wait 4 years or something? Being an Entrepreneur an is similar and people fail for the same reasons that a Uni student would in their first year, but with abuse from people like you. A true Entrepreneur may take risks, that a normal 9-5 person (lemming) wouldn’t but it’s also down to knowledge, experience and gut feeling…
PS
Why settle for a continent or two when you can have World Domination…
Chris,
Thanks for posting. Who do you feel doesn’t understand and what don’t they understand?
I’m not abusing anyone, this site and the posts on it are intended to help anyone wanting to start a business, find the right idea/opportunity for them and then make a success of it.
This post in particular, is as it states humorous intended to demonstrate, in a mildly amusing way, what not to do.
