BlueJar.com has just run a group writing project. I enjoy taking part in group writing projects as they can encourage you to write a post in a particular style that perhaps you’re not used to, which helps you develop your writing plus they can also help you expose your blog to new readers while learning about other blogs that will be of interest to your readers.
In this case there are several entries that I feel will be of interest to readers of this blog, starting with the best:
- How To Promote Yourself (When You Don’t Want To.) – As an entrepreneur your role is to promote yourself and your business whenever and wherever possible, here’s a great guide on how to do so even if you’re not shy.
- What the hell is a column inch: How to advertise in a local newspaper – I have to agree most local papers could make it a lot easier for small business to buy advertising from them.
- How to become a better writer in 30 days – Any post that begins “Read, read, read. Read everything” is bound to catch my attention, I read EVERYTHING even word of the day toilet paper! There should be no doubt in your mind that good quality writing will help your business.
Others of interest are:
- The Client Cycle Explained – An explanation of the cyclic relationship you have with your clients, personally I think it’s a bit over simplified. Once you’ve worked with a client you should be treating them very differently to a new prospect.
- Mind Map Tutorial on Blogging – Mind mapping can help you develop ideas in your business and a blog can help you reach your target customers this post mixes the two.
My own entry was How To Deal With Angry Customers. You’ll find the full list entries here.

This blog is about business opportunities and ideas that I spot, think of or hear about and think are useful and interesting. It is intended to provide ideas and inspriation for you to help you find the right business idea for you to then grow it into a successful business.

Thanks for the link and I appreciate your comments on the article. It was simplified and I do agree that your past clients are to be treated differently. It all stems back to relationship building. The better your relationship is with your past clients the better prospect they are for future work.
No problem it’s a useful article and many small businesses would benefit from focusing more on their client relationships.
Absolutely, no more of the once and done mentality. You’d be surprised how many business people in today’s world think it is okay to just get that sale and forget the client. If you had a soapbox, I could go on
