Most people see Halloween as a time to profit from selling candies; I see it as a time to profiting from brand building. If you’re a huge a corporation or even a small time business entrepreneur, you can surely build your brand in Halloween. I’m not talking about giving candies away to build your brand but to give out costumes that look like your mascot.
If resources are an issue then you can always sell your mascot costumes at break even prices (sell the costumes just to break even so more people will buy them). Sell them at your stores at the start of October to get people interested in wearing your mascot costumes. All those kids, teenagers and even adults will be promoting your business for free during Halloween when they are trick or treating or having Halloween parties.
This is hard to pull off if you don’t have a mascot. If you don’t have one then you should put some effort and get one. Having a mascot opens new opportunity in building up your brand and you will have an easier time promoting your business through it. Just make sure your mascot correlates with your business and use your logo as an inspiration.
Have fun during trick or treat. Remember that each time you wear a costume you are helping build brand image for that particular company. Ask for a salary the next time you wear one!
