According to a press release put out on behalf of SillyJokes there is a global shortage of quality fake poo which has led to a crisis that has affected more than just the comedy market. I couldn’t help but laugh when I read that!
There is a serious side however and they go on to quote Jennean Alkadiri, the Campaigns Manager for WaterAid:
“I don’t know what we’d do if we didn’t have a regular supplier of fake poo! The ever popular WaterAid game, the ‘Poopla’ raises awareness of how lucky we are in this country to have a toilet while thousands of children die each day elsewhere in the world because of diseases that are spread from lack of toilets. We need fake poos to change the world!”
I have to admit I’d never have expected there to be a business opportunity in the manufacture of good quality fake poo, but I suppose as the saying goes, Where there’s muck there’s brass.

John,
I think I can help…
Here in Australia, right now, We are in the midst of elections. Believe me, we have so much real poo floating around on the air waves right now, I’m sure we could send some to Britain.
Just think of it as our way of saying thank you for cricket (the game), for sending us here in the first place and, giving us this delightful conceit, we call a democracy.
Wonder what the going poo per pound rate is?
Lindsay,
I think our politicians can probably produce just as much unfortunately…
wonder if the days would come when cargos from the far east would drop anchor carying tonnes of quality “cheap” fake poo…
I wonder what the materials are for fake poo and do they charge by lb. ….
