It seem that The Apprentice Series four (UK) will begin soon on the BBC according to an advert shown after Sports Relief does The Apprentice last night. Which was very amusing (well Hardeep Singh Kohli really made me laugh) and also rather sad. Do these celebrities not get that it’s a bit of fun for charity? By swearing and arguing with each other they just look pathetic. On the boys team Hardeep Singh Kohli and Phil Tufnell stood out while the on the girls team Louise Redknapp stole the show. Simon Ambrose, last years winner of The Apprentice even put in a brief appearance so it seems he at least stuck around for the job.
Kelvin MacKenzie, Lembit Opik and Jacqueline Gold all managed to look silly after upsetting their team mates, I was particularly surprised at Jacqueline Gold as I rated her quite highly after seeing her on Fortune: Million Pound Giveaway where she was often a voice of reason.
Most disappointing of all however was the advert for The Apprentice Series 4, which showed people fighting each other to get to Sir Alan Sugar, hardly a professional approach. It’s a shame as The Apprentice could be a good business based show, but it seems the BBC is determined to lower it to the level of Big Brother. I expect we’ll get another “evil” character like Katie again this year too – perhaps it should be renamed “The Pantomime”, what do you think?

It will be interesting to see the apprentice debrief tonight!
I was at first a bit surprised and then not at all really to see that the CEO of Ann Summers was a bit of a control freak. But then on the other side, this series is as you remark getting a bit sensationalist and I am sure the editing just adds to that!
To be fair she came off far better than the two men I mentioned.
Does anyone know when it will actually start? Ta!
It was on last week, Mike. Maybe it is still on BBC iplayer, have a look.
It looks like it’s back on the 25th, read my latest post on The Apprentice Season 4 for details of the contestants.
Its normal TV nowadays, nothing quite stirs up publicity like sensationalism. I for one wont be missing a single episode. It not only makes great television, but I always learn something form it that I can take forward and personally benefit from.
