Gordon Brown To Have His Own ‘Apprentice’ Show?

on May 14th, 2008

BrownThere are various reports about that Prime Minister Gordon Brown is taking part in discussions with TV producers to star in his own reality show. Apparently MP Hazel Blears was photographed carrying a print-out of email detailing the show to a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Apparently it has the working title Junior PM.

It’s claimed that the email from producer Margaret McCabe pitched the show, which would feature aspiring politicians as contestants, as being targeted for the “Apprentice meets Maria/Strictly Come Dancing audience”.

Apparently the memo added that the show was “not stunt TV” and as a judge, Brown could become “more popular than Alan Sugar”. In light of recent public opinion against Gordon Brown (see The Economist article The Agony Of Gordon Brown this week) I suspect that the idea of as popular (let alone more) than SAS will be incredibly appealing.

Apparently a spokesperson said: “The idea is to get more young people interested in politics. But it hasn’t been commissioned yet. It is very early days.” Well that’ll make a change from Brown meddling with UK businesses! When I saw Brown and Apprentice in the same sentence I feared to worst for British SMEs who I’m sure would love to say “Gordon Brown… You’re Fired!”
