The Daily Mail’s Enterprising Young Brits awards is looking for entries from anyone aged 13 to 30 running their own business. The awards are intended to emphasises the key role young entrepreneurs have to play in the economy and are supported by the Institute of Directors.
There are five categories:
- BUSINESS ENTREPRENEUR: For those who have started their own business.
- SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY: For those who have combined the running of a successful business and benefiting their local community or environment.
- TEEN: For anyone aged 13 to 19 who is turning a business idea into reality.
- CREATIVE: Rewarding talent in the creative industries such as arts, music and fashion.
- GOING GLOBAL: For start-ups that are now exporting their goods or services overseas.
The winner of each category will receive £1,000, a trophy and a certificate. Entry is open until the 27th of February 2009. You can enter yourself, or enter on behalf of a friend, colleague or relative and you are allowed to enter up to two different categories. The entry form is available online by going to www.dailymail.co.uk/enterprise. There is no entry fee.

13 to 30? I thought I was still young at 36!
They seem to be promoting entrepreneurship a lot more in schools these days which is a change from my school days.
Again 13 to 30 I thought I was a youngster at 32, guess I missed out on this one.
Glad to see that schools are promoting the idea of entrepreneurship.
