Happy new year! I hope you all had a enjoyable and prosperous 2008 and are looking forward to an even better year in 2009.
2008 has been a successful year for Business Opportunities and Ideas, as the number of visitors and subscribers continues to grow and I’m very pleased to say the forum is really starting to become popular, developing a thriving community of entrepreneurs who are helping each other out.
Like I did last year I thought it would be interesting to take a look at some of the most popular (or in some cases my favourite) posts of 2008:
- AngelsWanted – which looked at combining the wisdom of crowds with angel investing – otherwise known as Crowdfunding.
- Business School In A Box – a suggestion for a product that provides business education.
- The Business Idea Factory – an alternate approach to finding the best business ideas.
- Will Angel Investors Invest In An Idea? – continuing the angel investing theme, dispelling some myths.
- The Infinitely Stocked Bookshop – bookworm that I am I like the idea of being able to get any book I want when I want it.
- What Should Be In An MBA For Entrepreneurs? – a look at how the MBA could be styled to suit entrepreneurs.
- How To Start A Blogging Business – a quick recipe for starting a blogging business.
- Read A Book And Get An MBA? – bookworm that I am I still don’t agree that books alone are as good as structured learning.
- Sky High Oil Is The Business Opportunity Of The Decade – replacing oil or finding ways to extract more oil is a big business opportunity.
- Big Issue? – sales lessons from a Big Issue seller.
- Give Them Sandwiches – a cheap business idea, inspired by a local building site.
- How To Find Niche Markets – finding a niche market is a great way to kick-start your business.
- Do You Eat Your Own Dog Food? – if not why not?
- Don’t Worry About The Number Of Competitors – despite what you’ve been told competition is good.
- How To Write A Simple Business Plan – there’s no point writing one that’s so complex you’ll never use it.
In 2009 I’m planning to:
- Add more, in depth articles on how to start specific businesses. If you’ve got a business opportunity you’d like to see covered get in touch and suggest it.
- Keep growing the traffic and increase the number of comments – debate is healthy and gets us all thinking!
- Keep growing the business opportunities and ideas forum.
How about you, what are your business plans are you making for 2009?
