If, like me you’re a fan of The Apprentice, you’ll want to be watching (or recording) BBC One of Thursday the 12th March at 9pm and on Friday, from 7pm when The Apprentice get’s it’s yearly celebrity outing with Comic Relief.
For Comic Relief, The Apprentice provides a special two-part programme in which ten celebrities are set to take on the challenges laid by Sir Alan Sugar.
The girls’ team this year is Ruby Wax, Carol Vorderman, Patsy Palmer, Fiona Phillips and Michelle Mone. Against them the boys’ team fields, Jack Dee, Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr, Gok Wan and Gerald Ratner. Interesting to see both teams have a real life entrepreneur on them this year – should prove good viewing.
For their challenge, the two teams are given a limited time to design a toy, create a TV ad campaign and pitch to toy industry experts.
Following that, as usual, Sir Alan Sugar will decide which team has come up with the most commercially viable product. The losing team will face Sir Alan and his advisers Nick and Margaret in the boardroom.
Personally I’ve always been very impressed by Michelle Mone from what I’ve read about her and from what I’ve seen when she’s been on The Apprentice: You’re Fired (in particular the roasting she gave Katie Hopkins a few years ago stands out) so I’ll be cheering on the girls team.
No doubt once comic relief is over we’ll start seeing adverts and press releases about The Apprentice Series 5.
